WANNA DANCE? COMPETITION
Dates: March 13-March 17, 2023

Sheraton Hotel: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday before 5 pm
Holy Heart Theater: Friday after 5 pm, Saturday, Sunday
Convention: Wanna Dance is not offering a convention this year.
Parking: There is limited paid parking available at the Sheraton. Plan for parking downtown or a nearby parking lot. Holy Heart is going to be very busy that weekend. The Girls 4A Provincial Basketball finals are happening at the same time in the gymnasium. My sister is on the Holy Heart Team, so I had my mother speak with the coach about the parking issues and they are looking at having their semi finals and finals at MUN so that basketball and dance are not competing for parking spots. I would plan for walking to the theatre. There is parking in front of the school, to the side of the theatre, Sobeys parking lot (but this may be blocked off from non shoppers), and the Rooms has parking as well. There is some on street parking in Georgestown but with snow clearing as it is I would not plan for this option.
Competition Viewing: There are limited seats available for parents to view the competition at the Sheraton. Please be aware that you may need to stand depending on the category. Holy Heart Theatre will be fully available for seating and I do not see issue with it filling during the weekend.
Audience Admission Costs: 1 day passes - $5, Weekend pass - $20.
Callback and Awards: At Wanna Dance? they host final callbacks where they invite the highest scoring group number from each studio in their junior and senior categories. The Junior Finals are on Saturday night where the highest scoring group number from our mini or intermediate teams will perform. The Senior Finals are on Sunday night where the highest scoring group number from our junior and senior teams will perform. Please note that our production number does NOT qualify for the callback this year as I have put it in the “production” category instead of the large group as I have in the past. Minis and Intermediates are not required to come to the finals on Sunday, but they will be giving out final awards so they may want to attend. If you are unable to attend, I will make sure any awards you miss are collected.
