Lindsay Burke

Lindsay Burke is a multifaceted individual with a diverse background in the performing arts  With a passion for dance and performance from an early age, Lindsay has been actively involved in the theatre and dance scene. Lindsay has participated in numerous local theatre productions, including TADA! Events' Jesus Christ Superstar and the annual Our Divas Do Christmas show, where her love for dance and performing has been showcased.


Lindsay began to dance at an early age and started teaching for Mrs Marie in 2012. As a dance teacher, Lindsay has gained extensive experience and expertise in various styles of dance. From teaching ballet classes for young children to adult heels dance classes, Lindsay is a well-rounded instructor. She is also High Five certified, which attests to her commitment to providing quality recreational programs for children. Lindsay has furthered her training by attending workshops and conventions both locally and internationally, enhancing her teaching skills and dance knowledge. Additionally, Lindsay has completed her Cecchetti Ballet Examinations up to and including Grade 6, highlighting her proficiency in ballet. During her studies in Ireland, Lindsay got to share her love for dance by becoming a teacher and crew member for the highest-scoring intervarsity dance team in the Republic of Ireland.

Outside the studio, Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Memorial University and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Optometry from Technological University in Dublin. She is a Member of the Association of Optometrists, Ireland (MAOI). Currently, Lindsay is working at the Jackman Eye Institute, collaborating with ophthalmologists while pursuing her career as an optometrist in Newfoundland.

Returning home to Newfoundland, Lindsay is delighted to be back teaching at Steffen Dance, where she can share her love and passion for dance with aspiring young dancers. Her enthusiasm and expertise make her a valuable asset to the dance community, inspiring and guiding the next generation of performers.
