Maria is a Grade 12 student at Gonzaga High School, and has been taking dance classes from Marie Steffen since the age of three. She has taken every opportunity possible to extend her training and passion for dance. 

Maria began assisting at the age of 10, as she has always had a natural desire to help young children. This allowed her to combine two things she loved into one. She has also taught the studios summer camps and recreational classes over the years. Maria has a special love for tap, but has trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, broadway jazz, hip hop and latin jazz. She is a member of the Performance Program 7 classes, and the Senior Competition Team for Steffen Dance. This is her sixth year competing with the team. Performing for audiences has always been the best feeling to her. This past winter, she performed in her first Our Divas Do Christmas with Tada Events, which she is excited to do again this year.

Maria is beyond excited to share her passion, knowledge and enjoyment of dance with her students for the 2023-2024 season. She can’t wait to meet her students, and continue to work with her returning ones!
