Hello Steffen Dance Families,
We cannot wait to welcome you all back into the studio for Fall classes starting on Friday, September 10. With a new year, and recent updates to the provincial COVID 19 Heath Protocols, we have some changes to our studio COVID policies to update you on.
First, we would like to emphasize that these protocols are subject to change based on updates given by the Chief Medical Officer. We will keep our studio COVID protocols up to date on this page.
We are very excited to announce that we will be allowing parents back into the studio this year to watch our dancers’ classes. We know that you have missed watching your dancer in class and our Saturdays have felt particularly empty over the past year.
We do though ask, that where possible, dancers only have one caregiver enter the studio to watch each week to prevent overcrowding. We understand that sometimes this will not be possible with siblings and family schedule planning, but when possible try not to bring the whole family! 🙂 The studio is fortunate to have a large waiting area that can accommodate one parent per student with physical distancing. Siblings and grandparents, in addition to parents, will make following physical distancing protocols difficult. If we find that there are regularly too many people in the foyer to allow for physical distancing we will need to revert to our previous protocols in order to adhere to guidelines required for businesses.
Some parents may wish to continue to drop off students in the parking lot. In these cases, staff will continue to help the students with their shoes and getting to class. We were surprised and proud at how well our dancers did without parents inside the studio last season and we all established a good routine. We are sure that some of these positive elements will continue.
While masks are no longer required, we do ask that adults coming into the building to watch our classes wear masks in order to protect our large under 12 dancer population who will not be vaccinated. Masks are optional and will not be enforced but are strongly encouraged! Students do not need to wear masks when dancing.
It is such a delight to welcome our dance families back into the studio. If you have any questions regarding these changes please do not hesitate to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you everyone,
Marie, Alicia and the Steffen Dance Team
